Attractions:

One the most notable attractions in the Rimrock, Lake Montezuma area is Montezuma’s Well National Monument and Montezuma Castle. Montezuma’s Well was first noted in a 1583 journal from the expedition of Spaniard Antonio de Espejo. He depicted an abandoned pueblo with an irrigation ditch running from a pond. It was first thought that the castle belonged to Aztec emperor Montezuma but it was the home to the Sinagua people. For many years the depth of the well was a great mystery, the most recent study puts it at 55′ deep and 368 feet across. It is estimated that 1 million gallons of water per day flow through. This well has been used to feed irrigation channels for natives of the area.

Wet Beaver Creek is a perennial stream, that flows past both Motezuma Well and Montezuma Castle in Rimrock, before flowing into the Verde River near Camp Verde
Wet Beaver Creek provides for a repairman environment that attracts wildlife, such as deer, javelina, bobcats, coyotes, rabbits and many varieties of birds. This area is great for those that enjoy birding.

Residents of the greater Rimrock area enjoy the good weather the area has to offer. There are many well rated local restaurants such as El Patio Mexican food, Thai Gardens and Robbie’s. Off of the Mc Guireville exit, there are several several locally owned shops. Rimrock has some of the most affordable homes in the Verde Valley, with manufactured homes starting at less that $150,000. There are also luxury homes starting under $500,000.
